My Instant Noodles

Tired of eating magi mee but don't have the time to prepare food at home? Fret no more here is a simple dish that can be prepared in advance and takes only 10mins to cook.

Pan Fried Chicken with Rice Noodles - Serves 1

Ingredients:
100g of chicken (any part you like, chopped up into small chunks preferably)
50g of rice noodles (normally these are sold in packs and have individual bundles inside)
half a table spoon of oil
a pinch of spices (this is really up to you. You will only use them in the marinating of the chicken)
a pinch of salt
a pinch of ground black pepper

Method:
1. Marinate chicken in the oil, spices, salt and pepper. This step can be done way in advance but you can use the chicken immediately.
2. Heat a pan on high and when pan is hot sear chickens on each side for 2 mins each or till golden brown. You don't need to put any extra oil as the chickens should be well coated in oil
3. Turn the heat to low and cover the pan for 2 mins to let the chicken cook thoroughly. Turn off the heat but leave the cover on to let the chicken rest and release its juices.
4. Boil hot water and soak your rice noodles for approximately 3-4 min. Don't soak them for too long if not they will get soggy.
5. Try your noodles to get the Q-ness you want. Once you are satisfied with your noodles, remove the chickens from the pan and turn the heat on high. Fry the noodles for a min while tossing the stirring to make sure the sauce coats the noodles. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6. Plate the chicken and serve.

Quick and simple meals shouldn't be bland and tasteless cause you don't have time. They can be tasty too ^^ enjoy!

Grilled Sandwhich

Hey all, todays blog is on the humble grilled cheese sandwhich. Most of you would have gone "huh? i need to grill the sandwich on a barbeque?" no you don't have to. the method is actually quite simple. Grilled sandwhichs aren't some thing you find in most asian eateries cause it is an invention by some angmo very long ago. (wiki it your self thank you very much =P)

here's what you need:
Grilled Cheese Ham Sandwich - Serves 2

4 slices of bread
4 slices of cheese
2 strips of bacon
A tomato thinly sliced
Mayonnise
Pepper

Put a slice of cheese on each side of bread and lay the ingredients  on each slice. Add mayonniese and pepper.

Next lightly butter the top and bottom side of your sandwich with with either butter or olive oil

Turn the heat to high and place your sandwich on a non stick pan. Now the trick to making your grilled sandwich go from good to superb! Get a heavy plate or a heavy object ( i used a potato masher to press the sandwich down) to press down and flatten the sandwich. Turn over and do the same for the other side. Cook each side for 1 - 2 mins.

Serve just as it is. Cut open to reveal a gooey runny cheesy center ^^

This a great midnight snack or if you are rushing for time and need a quick meal. It just takes at least 15 min to prepare a serving. What's more you can be creative with this recipe. you can add anything between the slices. Chicken chop, lamb fillets, beef slices, basically anything you want. must be edible of course ^^.

Quick and Easy Ramen!

Nowadays, we have everything instant. Instant noodles, instant coffee, instant cash, instant messaging etc.. So today i want to introduce to you, quick and easy ramen! The best parts of this ramen is the taste and the convenience! It is basically like a chim or high class version of the instant noodle.

Quick and Easy Ramen ( Serves 2 )

One pack of ramen ( easily available at all leading supermarket. this brand has awesome soup base and is cheap)
Two packs of soup base, any flavour u like ( inside ramen pack )
1 piece sea weed
Spring Onion
Roast pork
( basically add whatever ingredients u like. i just throw in whatever is in my fridge )

Cook Ramen noodles in boiling water for 3-5 min. Do NOT overcook noodles! immediately drain water and rinse with cold water when noodles are done, to prevent the noodles from cooking further.

Add soup base into boiling water and throw in all your other ingredients. Once the other ingredients are cooked, serve soup with noodles.
Garnish with spring onion and seaweed.

Sorry i cant recall the name of this brand of ramen i like to buy! but u can take a look at the pic above and look for it at the supermarket! they have shoyu soup base, miso and tonkotsu (pork bones soup base). my fav one is the tonkotsu. Very very acceptable to satisfy ramen cravings and weird hours or if u think ramen takes too much effort to cook. Also, very good to impress friends or family members! u can fake that u took like hours to boil the pork bones for the soup base! hehe but of cos cannot be compared to those that i had in Japan.... ooohhhhhhh **drools***

quick go stock up ur fridge with this brand of ramen NAO!
